For Striking UAW 364 Conn Selmer Steinway Elkhart Workers
Since April of last year. 230 families have been fighting union busting and outsourcing by stock manipulator Dana Massina. Massina who was a protege of stock crook Michael Milken bought out Steinway and then forced out the long time musical makers of brass instruments in Elk Hart, Indiana to strike at the plant. He has brought in scabs and is seeking to bust the union.
In fact he says that he will not take any of the workers back. It is time to shutdown this union buster and put him out of business if he will not take the workers back. Join workers in Japan and the United States in an international day of action at Steinway operations from coast to coast.
Slimeway Has Since:
Refused to bargain in good faith
Moved a third of the jobs to a China for cheap labor with no union rights
Refused to allow long-term employees to reclaim their jobs
Has vowed to keep all their Scabs and allow only allow 14 of the 260 workers to return to their jobs
Has embarked on a union-busting campaign
Has risked the safety of high school band members by producing inferior instruments in China
Has drastically lowered the quality of instruments produced by scabs in Elkhart, Indiana
Has lowered the standard of living for workers in Indiana, forced their families into poverty, divided their community, caused deaths of workers and created a climate of stress and anguish all for the sake of higher profits.
