The membership is screaming "hell no" on this deal. The union committee people are fighting amongst themselves very openly and visibly (actual pushing match). Our own committee people are letting people know they cannot in good conscience support this crap. Everyone is being very vocal reminding each other first and foremost to show up and vote because in Rochester a no show is an automatic "yes" vote (explains how things get passed so easily here). We make sure to talk in open areas where management can hear us. We want them to be aware that this is not going to fly. Our feeling is mutual between traditional and non traditional workers....we have had enough. We will no longer allow them to hold the old "do it or we will close your plant" b.s. over us any longer. Our feeling is basically "go the fuck ahead"...They have already taken too much for us to care anymore. We also know that turning it down may or may not close the plant. At least if it does close we get our severance and TRA...Let 'em close because if that's the best they have to offer then let China have it!!!! To be honest I think the smartest thing our chairman at each of the 5 plants could do for us is stand united and tell international "hell no"!!! They want us to do our own contracts but still send them our union dues? WTF?
